Anna Burger Joins SEIU Members in Final PA Push for Obama

Philadelphia SEIU Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger is joining SEIU members in a final push to help Barack Obama win the Pennsylvania primary and clinch the Democratic nomination. Burger, a Pennsylvania native, will visit worksites and canvass alongside SEIU members. On primary day, Burger will kick off a Philadelphia rally with SEIU members and other Change to Win members before they fan out across the city to get voters to the polls for Obama.

“With the national spotlight on Pennsylvania, we’ve seen just how bad George Bush’s presidency has hit working families,” said Burger. “Families across the state need change. That’s why SEIU members have been turning out in record numbers to let Pennsylvanians know that Barack Obama is the only candidate who can deliver that change and turn things around for working families.”

SEIU’s more than 70,000 Pennsylvania members have spent weeks talking to their coworkers and voters about Barack Obama’s plans for Pennsylvania families. SEIU members appeared on an extensive television ad buy and on mobile billboards and made tens of thousands of calls and knocked on more than 150,000 doors.
