On Sept. 16th through 18th, close to 2,000 of SEIU’s most politically active members came together in Washington, DC to lay the groundwork for electing a pro-worker president in 2008.

At the SEIU Member Political Action Conference, members discussed which issues should be top priorities for the next president, mapped out the steps needed to win for working families in the ’08 elections, and met with and heard from five presidential candidates: Senator Clinton; Senator Dodd; Senator Edwards; Senator Obama; and Governor Richardson.

They also took to Capitol Hill to rally for urgently-needed funding for children’s healthcare through the State Children’s Health Insurance Program and to talk directly with their members of Congress about a wide range of important issues.

Check out coverage from each day below, including blog posts from SEIU President Andy Stern and SEIU Secretary-Treasurer Anna Burger.
