I have worked as a nurse (LPN and RN) for 29 years in Mpls. and Chicago. I was an SEIU member when I worked at HealthPartners 6 years ago, and was involved in SEIU union organizing of long term care centers. My years of work have demonstrated to me the complete failure of our government to provide health care to all citizens. As an individual I don't have much power to effect change, however I did go to my precinct caucus and I talk to my friends at work. I would be very interested in working with SEIU people in the Twin Cities area to organize for healthcare. I would also like to donate 1 weeks vacation to go to Pennsylvania or Indiana to campaign for Obama.
